This heavily peated version of Edradour is matured in a wide variety of wood types. A formidable, smoky Single Malt born out of experimentation, passion and the pursuit of quality. Phenol content of a minimum of 50 parts per million.

Ballechin 10 Year Old
Ballechin is the heavily peated distillation we have been making at Edradour Distillery since 2003. Distilled using barley which has been infused with peat to a level not less than 50ppm. This bottling is predominantly from ex Bourbon casks with a generous top dressing of ex Oloroso Sherry casks, to create added depth and greater complexity. It has been bottled at 46%, without chillfiltration, to retain the true cask character. The name Ballechin originates from a fellow Perthshire farm distillery, which sadly closed its doors in 1927. There, Alfred Barnard, who catalogued all the distilleries in the UK in the 1880’s, made reference to having experienced a peated whisky. Ballechin 15 Year Old Small Batch Cask Strength
Ballechin is the heavily peated distillation we have been making at Edradour Distillery since 2003. Distilled using barley which has been infused with peat to a level not less than 50ppm. This bottling is a Limited Edition of 3461 bottles from a vatting of first fill Bourbon barrels and Second fill Oloroso sherry butts. This is a Cask Strength bottling at 58.9%, without chillfiltration, to retain the true cask character. Natural colour. Ballechin Bourbon Cask Matured
We started distilling Ballechin in 2003, our heavily peated malt, peated to a level of at least 50ppm. Distilled in 2008, the new spirit was filled into Bourbon cask No 281 and matured solely in that cask. Outturn 301 bottles. Bottled at natural cask strength, the whisky retains the full depth of colour and all the flavours developed during maturation. No artificial colour has been added during bottling. The colour of the whisky reflects only the natural impact from the casks used. Ballechin Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured
Ballechin is heavily peated to at least 50ppm. Distilled in 2010, the new spirit was filled into Oloroso Sherry cask No 201 and matured solely in that cask. Outturn 893 bottles. Bottled at natural cask strength, the whisky retains the full depth of colour and all the flavours developed during maturation. No artificial colour has been added during bottling.
